On July 3, 2016 the Elim Arrival was given the awesome opportunity to visit once again the 1st Church of the Open Bible in Ottumwa, Iowa.
It was not only special for us in that it was another opportunity for us to go and reach out but it was also the return of their beloved pastor, Bill Hornback.
Bill had to take a step out for quite a bit of time to take rest from having complications with the health of his heart. His return was nothing less than special. He stepped back up to the pulpit with a heart full of joy and a mouth full of praise. His countenance was so encouraging and his hopefulness was contagious. He brought forth a great truth to his congregation which is a necessary truth to be reminded of daily in the walk with Christ.
It is the truth that when you give your life to Jesus, “the things of the old have passed away, behold all things have become new.” He gave an encouraging word that is detrimental as we reach out in the hope of revival.
Just because all things become new, it does not mean it is going to be an easy road ahead but it can be a victorious one.
As Pastor Bill reminded us with the Word of God, “We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted but not forsaken; struck down but not destroyed- always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body” (2 Corinthians 4:8-10).
We want to thank 1st Church of the Open Bible and their beloved pastor Bill Hornback for the gift of leading them in and worship and hearing the encouraging Word of truth that was given.
