Clear Lake Christian Church: Suffering & Glory

On Sunday, August 21 the Elim Arrival had the honor of once again visiting Clear Lake Christian Church in Clear Lake, Iowa.  We have been able to build a beautiful relationship with this church, and life-long friendships as well.

We want to begin by thanking Paul and Anita Langholz for welcoming us into their home and simply making us feel at home. This is not the first time they have given us a place to rest our head and we are so thankful for their hospitality.

On this day we were able to join them in worship and share our campaign with them. It is amazing to see how God is using some of our prayers and songs and how He is giving them as tools to other churches.

The sermon that was given to the congregation on this day was filled with so much truth. Pastor Drew spoke on suffering and glory. He spoke of things that are so important to hold onto as we walk with God. He was making the point that in our walk with Christ, suffering is going to come first but it is all going to be worth it because God is going to redeem our suffering into glory.

This is a hope that I pray God engraves on our hearts. Every day we either experience or witness terrible suffering in the world we live in. It can often be so discouraging and drain us out. It can cause us to doubt or whip us into a state of depression.

Let us not grow weary in doing good, and let us persevere. One day our cross will be replaced with a crown and our faith will become sight. “Whatever my lot, thou hath taught me to say.  It is well, it is well with my soul.”

Having this hope in Christ, this proclamation over suffering, is essential for us to bring a movement of revival in our nation. Thank you so much for having us Clear Lake Christian Church.
